Attention all college-bound students – the SAT is alive and well and is still currently required or considered at over 1,200 colleges and universities. To help students prepare for the SAT, Engenius Learning will be holding an SAT practice test on Saturday, February 20th from 9:00 am to 1 pm (held virtually with an online proctor). The cost of the test is $20.
The proceeds from this test will go to Willow Glen Cares, part of the Willow Glen Education Foundation. For more information about Willow Glen Cares, go to http://willowglenfoundation.org/programs-activities/willow-glen-cares/
To sign up for the test, please follow this link https://forms.gle/dCARzexoY5bWC3gm8.
Uncertain if you should prep for the ACT or SAT, this short video will help you understand why you should still take the SAT.
And if you uncertain about whether it is better to take the ACT or SAT, watch this short video to better understand which test might be best for you.
If you are a parent of a 9th or 10th grader, I would encourage you to sign up for the test. We have seen that students who start thinking about college early in their high school careers tend to have better chances at a wide variety of colleges and universities.
Still not convinced you should take the test, please consider that while the CSUs have no interest in the ACT or SAT, the UC has stated very clearly that ACT or SAT scores, while not required for admission, will be used for “California statewide admissions guarantee, as an alternative method of fulfilling minimum requirements for eligibility or for course placement after you enroll.”
If you have any questions about the ACT, SAT, or college planning, please contact Mike Flynn at 408-495-3800.
